Inferno is an enigmatic journey where guests are transported through unique interpretations of the passages of Dante’s Inferno. Under the veil of flickering lights and haunting melodies we invite our guests to challenge the homophobic concept of Hell and reframe the potential afterlife as a place that celebrates marginalized communities instead of punishing us more than the world we currently exist in.
This gathering of wanderers joins to explore and subvert the sins of Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery. The result is an equal parts beautiful and thrilling event, building an opulent, esoteric world and creating a space that uplifts and reveres people otherwise ostracized by society.
Hot Fix Sideshow is a collective of internationally touring & award-winning performers, including members of the current cast of the Coney Island Circus Sideshow. We specialize in fire performance, sword swallowing, glass walking, aerial arts, mentalism, escape acts and feats of strength. We’re also a group that incorporates performers of all genders and we represent various identities in the LGBTQIA spectrum. Individually our work often centers around creating spaces for queer inclusion on stage and off, as well as examining theological trauma through performance.
Inferno is made possible, in part, by support from Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
